Nur Monos waren Segelschiffe. Der Atlantik und viele N\u00e4chte vor Anker haben mich dummen Menschen weiser werden lassen. Danke meinen Kat Freunden, dass ihr so nachsichtig mit meiner jugendlichen Naivit\u00e4t ward.<\/p>\n<p>Wir kommen von keinem schlechten Monohull Niveau, unsere Atlantikrunde haben wir mit einer Hanse505 gedreht. Mit einem Mono um die Welt zu gehen, ist f\u00fcr uns undenkbar &#8211; erst recht mit einer Hanse. Hier sind unsere ganz pers\u00f6nlichen Gr\u00fcnde f\u00fcr den Umstieg:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Kein Leben im Hang.<\/strong> Nach zwei Wochen Atlantik hatte ich das Gef\u00fchl, ein Bein ist l\u00e4nger als das andere. Die st\u00e4ndige Kr\u00e4ngung nervt irgendwann. Kats segeln aufrechter, es gibt nicht mal kardanische Kochplatten \u2013 das erkl\u00e4rt alles. Freude konnten auf Ihrem Kat w\u00e4hrend des selben Crossings Schach spielen, wir nicht mal vom Tisch essen.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Monos rollen. Kats nicht.<\/strong> Vor allem vor Anker ist der Unterschied enorm.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Kein jonglieren, weniger blaue Flecken.<\/strong> Bei Seegang ist es nicht witzig, Zeugs \u00fcber die Treppe ins Cockpit zu schleppen oder zum Navtisch runter zu hangeln. Beim (unserem Leopard) Kat liegen Cockpit und Salon (bei uns auch die Pantry) auf einem Niveau, man muss nicht klettern und kann keine Treppe runterfallen. Das sind einige blaue Flecken weniger.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mehr Platz.<\/strong> \u00dcberall. Drinnen und drau\u00dfen. Wir haben einen festen Arbeitsplatz und m\u00fcssen Computer und B\u00fccher nicht st\u00e4ndig wegr\u00e4umen und sichern. Auf unserer neuen Leopard dazu noch zwei Au\u00dfenbereiche zum verweilen.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Kats sind deutlich schneller<\/strong> bei halbem und raumem Wind. Am Wind verlieren Kats 15 Grad. Etmal kalkulatorisch i. M. Hanse505: 140, Leopard45: 200 (beides zweihand, konservativ) und da wir \u00fcberwiegend Passatwind segeln, ist der Vorteil beachtlich.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Weniger Tiefgang.<\/strong> Ist im normalen Leben nicht gut, aber bei Schiffen ein Traum. Mit 1.40 statt 2.50 m haben wir viel mehr Ankerm\u00f6glichkeiten, sind n\u00e4her an Inseln und k\u00f6nnen auch leichter die Turks&#038;Caicos oder Bahamas besegeln.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dinghi Handling.<\/strong> Auf der Hanse hatten wir ein Dinghi von 2,40 m und 2.5 PS AB, faltbar zum verstauen. Auf der Leopard gibt\u2019s bequeme Davits f\u00fcr ein Dinghi 3,40\/3,60 und 15\/20 PS. Neue Welten f\u00fcr uns und keine Zerrungen mehr.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Zwei Motoren, zwei Ruder.<\/strong> Obwohl der Motor so ziemlich das einzige war, was auf unserer Hanse weniger Probleme gemacht hat gibt es mehr Sicherheit durch Redundanz.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mehr Komfort.<\/strong> Waschmaschine, Sp\u00fclmaschine, mehr Solarpanel und vieles mehr sind auf einem Kat viel besser unterzubringen.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Autarkie.<\/strong> Es ist leichter auf den umfangreichen Fl\u00e4chen Solar Panel aufzur\u00fcsten, das macht unabh\u00e4ngig von Marinas und Landstrom.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Nachteile:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ein Mono kann durchkentern und die Bleibombe stabilisiert. Beides nicht beim Kat.<\/li>\n<li>Kats sind deutlich teurer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Ergebnis: 12:2 (ok, nach der Liste 10:2, aber es gibt noch ein paar geheime Punkte)<\/p>\n<p>Ich musste also tats\u00e4chlich erst einmal um den Atlantik um zu verstehen, das ein Leben f\u00fcr Liveaboards auf einem Kat wesentlich angenehmer ist. (Ich wei\u00df Garry, du hattest schon immer Recht).
